Aquaman and Human Torch -By Mark Louisse Valdez
Scripture- "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." (Isaiah 43:2).
I just imagined my self passing through the deep waters and rivers. That just seemed awesome! I see myself saying hi to underwater creatures while walking to the depths of the sea. But that's just very impossible. For sure, I will get drowned really quick. I can't even swim. And even if I can, I know I wont be able to swim and dive and hold my breath for very long. How about walking through the fire? I never thought of doing that. It does'nt even sound cool. Even a fire on a matchstick can burn my skin. That's just so painful. How much more when I pass through the flames? That's just stupid. If I think about it, its really impossible.
Do I really have to pass through these? Is there any shortcut I can take? Can God just take all of these out of my life so that I wont get hurt along the way? He can! but He is telling us to pass through it anyway. He said in His word that He will be with us when we pass through deep waters, rivers and fire. With God we can be invincible. We can be like Aquaman, being able to breathe underwater. We can also be like the Human torch, whose body is blazing with fire yet immune to its burn. God wants us to experience an awesome adventure in life. He wants us to pass through the troubles, challenges, circumstances and obstacles along our way. By ourselves it will be hard and painful. But with God it's a piece of cake! Nothing is impossible!
Prayer: Father in heaven you are really an awesome God. Nothing is too hard for you. I thank you so much for being with me all the time. With you(Jesus) in me, nothing can overwhelm me. I can do anything for you are the one who gives me strength. Thank you for letting me have an awesome life in spite of life's challenges. May my life bring you praises and honor. In Christ name, Amen.
